Don C. Follmer, MD, Parent of Alum ’77 and former campus physician

Long ago I was told that “you can’t take it with you but you can send it on ahead!” I have been blessed with good investments and some time ago I decided that there is no better investment than the next generation. Moravian is my daughter’s Alma Mater and I have had past close ties as the college physician for about 17 years, so naturally I thought of Moravian as a good investment. My broker suggested using a Charitable Gift Annuity as a vehicle so I could continue to receive income, as well as get a substantial tax deduction. For me it was a win/win situation, and I have been happy with that decision for over four years.

Beside that, when my wife of 15 years died, I established a scholarship I her name and have had the joy of having lunch with the recipients of that fund. What a worthwhile investment!
